Maybe I'm too young for it but damn. Lately I'm always daydreaming about being back at Cancun for vacation. Staying out/up really late almost every night. Going to stripclub more often than is normal. Hitting the clubs looking for pussy like the world's about to end. Always bickering with my girl for idiotic reasons.
Sick of my office job. Feel so suffocated. I want to trade in my Equinox for a new Camaro.
So many things. Feel like I'm running out of time but running out of time for what?
IS MIDLIFE CRISIS REAL?!
Any of you go through a period in your life where you went tilt over it?
Blah. Fuck it.
Fuck you.#%()
It is real for you at the moment, it sounds like.
Mid-life crisis is basically the realization that you have only so many good years left and a desire to do some things you want to do but have not done (the secretary, a new car, get back in shape - to help with the secretary and because you just had the realization your good days are numbered). You can hit a point where you think the only reason to continue the daily grind is to use the money to live a more exciting life. People feel suffocated at their office job because they are bored with their life. Responsibility is boring.
For some, it can make them lose sight of their responsibilities, and for others it can be enlightening to a different life path.
For others, it is an excuse after the fact for immoral decisions.
I think if you are feeling like you are in a mid-life crisis, make sure to assess yourself and what you want ... but always with the idea of whatever your personal core values are. Don't divert from your core principles. Yours will be different than anyone else's .... so not telling you what those principles should be just letting you know you will hate yourself if you don't live by them and regret your bad decisions, particularly if they have major consequences.
It's a real thing but it doesn't happen to everyone.

Dr Phil
